Warren Storm Passes Away

The Parrain (Godfather) of Swamp Pop, Warren Storm, has passed away.

It’s a somber day for the musical community in South Louisiana.

Born Warren Schexnider on February 18, 1937, in Abbeville, Louisiana, Storm learned to play drums and guitar from his father, a Cajun musician. In the early 1950s, Storm began to perform publicly with Larry Brasso and the Rhythmaires.

As the days pass, the stories will come far and wide about Warren Storm, but, one thing is for sure: nobody that shared a space with Warren Storm ever forgot him.

Funeral arrangements are pending.
