GM Issues Chevy Bolt Recall Over Faulty Batteries That Can Start Fires

GM has issued a second recall of its Bolt electric vehicles, over a battery issue that can cause fires.

The recall affects roughly 69,000 vehicles spanning 2017-2019. A ‘rare manufacturing defect’ in the battery can result in fires.

Customers can get the battery replaced free of charge and will be notified when the parts are ready. GM recommends Bolt owners not park their vehicles inside or leave them charging overnight unattended.
