Walmart is Removing Guns and Ammo from Display Shelves Ahead of Election Day

Walmart is removing guns and ammo from display shelves and cases in all of its stores as a safety precaution against potential civil unrest during the 2020 Presidential Election.

The store will still sell firearms and ammunition on request, but will not have them easily accessible in case looters, rioters, and opportunists engage in violence due to the results of the 2020 Presidential Election.  A Walmart spokesperson told Business Insider that the decision was made as a precaution, citing previous cases of civil unrest.  The company did not say when guns and ammo would be back on shelves.
