Fleetwood Mac’s ‘Dreams’ Hits Number 1 On The Charts Thanks To Viral TikTok

Fleetwood Mac is back on top of the charts without having released new music in nearly two decades.

Fleetwood Mac’s iconic song ‘Dreams’ was featured in a TikTok video of a man on a skateboard drinking cranberry juice that went viral, which caused a huge surge in people listening to Fleetwood Mac on streaming services. 43 years after releasing ‘Dreams’ it’s now Number One on the iTunes songs chart and their Greatest Hits album was No. 2 on the albums chart.

‘Dreams’ has been streamed 8.47 million times in the US in the last week alone, which beats the previous high of 3.83 million in September. The song returned to the UK charts last week and was sitting at Number 85. The band’s legendary Rumours album re-entered the US Top 40 for the first time since 2013 and was sitting at Number 27, while in the UK it was at Number 22.

Nathan Apodaca, the man who filmed himself listening and lip-syncing to the track on his way home while skateboarding, struck a chord with people all over the world. The original video gathered so much attention that Fleetwood Mac drummer and bandleader, Mick Fleetwood, joined TikTok just to recreate the scene.
