Phase 3: Bars Will Be Able to Open in Parishes with Low COVID-19 Rates

Louisiana Governor John Bel Edwards has announced that some bars will be able to open with some restrictions under Phase 3 of reopening the state.

 
 

Bars that will be able to open for on-premises consumption must be in a Parish with low COVID-19 rates (5% or lower for 2 consecutive weeks)  The Parish government will have to opt-in to allow bars to open for on-premises consumption.

 
 

Approved bars will be able to operate at 25% capacity with up to 50 people total and utilize proper social distancing.    Customers outdoors must be seated for outdoor service.  Loud music will be prohibited and bars must close at 10 pm.

 
 

Individuals younger than 21 will not be allowed in a bar.

 
 

Restaurants will be allowed to operate at 75% capacity.  Other social gatherings such as weddings and birthdays will be allowed to operate at 50% capacity with a maximum of 250 people and proper social distancing.

 
 

Casinos will remain at 50% capacity and 75% at the gaming positions.

 
 

Alcohol sales will end at 10 pm.

 
 

Sporting events, such as college and high school football will operate at 25% capacity with social distancing required and no alcohol sales.

 
 

Nursing homes will still not allow visitors.

 
 

The statewide state mask mandate remains in place.
