Louisiana Governor John Bel Edwards has announced that the state will enter Phase 3 of reopening.
The governor said it was one of the hardest decisions that he has made thus far, not only based on the numbers, but also other events going on in the state, including the aftermath of Hurricane Laura.
Edwards says he felt confident enough to move the state into Phase 3 of reopening and more details will come on Friday, September 11th.
The governor reminded the public that moving forward is not a sign that the coronavirus is gone and insisted that people continue to take preventative measures to ensure that the state doesn’t “go backwards.” During the Q&A, Edwards said the mask order would continue.
