Restoration Progress of Lafayette Utilities System

Lafayette Utilities System will begin restoration efforts to customers affected by Hurricane Laura once wind speeds have dropped below 39 miles per hour, making it safe for LUS and mutual aid crews to begin assessment and restoration work.

Starting with restoration of transmission lines to distribution substations, LUS and mutual aid crews will work to restore services to the greatest number of customers as soon as possible.

Currently at 6 a.m., approximately 12,000 LUS customers are without power.

To report an outage, call LUS at (337) 291-9200 or for fallen power lines or downed power poles, call LUS at (337) 291-5700. Remember do not touch or drive over any fallen power lines.
