Acadiana Native Will Sing National Anthem

Acadiana Singer-Songwriter Madi Conrad announced on her Instagram that she will be singing the National Anthem for the Astros again this year, but it will be virtually.

“As most of you know, my greatest joy over the last several years has been singing the anthem and God Bless America for @mlb . The excitement And honor I experience standing with members of the military is a feeling I will never be able to describe with words. While I won’t be standing on home plate at Minute Maid Park. I will get to sing virtually for my Houston Atros. It will be very different, but I know that we will once again be able to gather in one of my favorite cities in the country and watch my team together!”

Madi always does a wonderful job singing the National Anthem. The joy that she speaks of exudes in the performance each time. In addition to singing and songwriting, Madi is pursuing a nursing degree at UL with hopes of eventually becoming a nurse practitioner.

Unfortunately, #covid19 struck and baseball season not only has been delayed, but it looks very different this year. While I won’t be standing on home plate at @minute_maid_park I will get to sing virtually for my @astrosbaseball .
