LPD: Victim in Stable Condition After Monday Night Shooting on E Simcoe

On June 1, 2020 at approximately 10:00 pm, officers with the Lafayette Police Department responded to a disturbance involving a firearm in the 1600 Blk of E. Simcoe St. Once on scene, officers located one victim suffering from a single gunshot wound.

 
 

Officers learned that the victim was involved in verbal altercation with two suspects. The altercation turned violent when one of the suspects produced a handgun and shot the victim once.

 
 

Medical assistance was provided to the victim prior to him being transported to a local hospital.

 
 

The victim is listed in stable condition.

 
 

The suspects fled the scene prior to officers’ arrival.

 
 

This investigation is ongoing.
