Louisiana Schools Will Remain Closed Through April 30th

The closure of Louisiana schools has been extended through the end of the month.

On Wednesday, April 1, 2020, Governor John Bel Edwards announced the extension of the ‘stay-at-home’ order through at least April 30th to help combat the spread of the COVID-19 virus.  The original plan had schools closed until at least April 13 with most schools opening by April 20th.

While the extension isn’t official yet, the governor announced that plans will be finalized in the coming days.  Options include schools re-opening in May, sometime later in the semester, or remain closed for the rest of the school year.
