DOTD Urges Prevention

The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development is urging motorists to take steps to prevent the spread of COVID-19, commonly referred to as coronavirus.

DOTD will be posting messages on the Dynamic Message Signs (DMS) on heavily traveled routes around the state reminding everyone to wash their hands frequently, as this simple action has been repeatedly cited by the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) and other health experts as one of the most important steps in preventing the spread of any illness, and especially COVID-19.

“DOTD has taken multiple measures to ensure employees are aware of how to best keep themselves and those around them healthy,” said Sec. Shawn D. Wilson, Ph.D. “It’s imperative that we use the resources available to us as a Department to share that same valuable information with the traveling public in an effort to reduce the spread of the virus.”
