Workers at Mechanic Shop Tried to Cover Up Smell of Gas Fumes by Lighting Incense

An auto repair shop went up in flames in Indianapolis on Tuesday.

According to Indianapolis Department Battalion Chief Rita Reith, workers at the shop had emptied a car’s gas tank into a bucket, but the fumes became too strong.  The workers attempted to light incense to cover up the smell and an ember from the incense found its way into the bucket, causing a massive fire.

The workers escaped safely, but the business was severely damaged.
