Jackson County Chief Sheriff’s Deputy Rocky Harnen has confirmed fatalities in a huge fire that destroyed at least 35-boats docked along the Tennessee River.
“We have some confirmed fatalities, but we don’t have an exact number yet. We have several people who were taken to the hospital from being in the water, and some had minor burns.” – Harnen

The fire occurred in the early morning hours Monday (Jan. 27). The Jackson County Emergency Management Agency is continuing rescue operations as 8-people remain missing as of 8:30 am.
