Saints Name Terron Armstead “Man of the Year” for 2019

The New Orleans Saints have announced Terron Armstead as “Man of the Year” for the 2019 season.

The team cites Armstead’s selection of team captain the last two seasons, his nomination for the Art Rooney Sportsmanship Award, and his community service work in both New Orleans and his hometown of Cahokia, Illinois.  Armstead started his own foundation to assist youth to become leaders in their communities.  He’s also sponsored several charity giveaways and has awarded thousands of dollars in scholarships to high school student-athletes.

As New Orleans Saints’ Man of the Year, Armstead will wear a special helmet decal for the rest of the season and he’ll be highlighted along with the other 31 selections from other teams.  All 32 selections are nominated for the 2019 Walter Payton Man of the Year Award, which will be announced during two-hour primetime awards special the night before Super Bowl LIV.
