Anti-Robocall Bill Passes in House

The United States House of Representatives passed an anti-robocall bill nearly unanimously on Wednesday.

Spam calls are up worldwide and Rep. Greg Walden, R-Ore. says 54 billion unsolicited calls were made this year.  In the legislation, phone companies are called on to continue implementing technologies to block spam calls and, if they do not comply, the FCC will be given authority to mandate implementation.

Just 3 House members voted against the popular bill which is expected to pass through the Senate and onto the desk of President Trump.

“I’m sure the president will sign it,” – Rep. Greg Walden.
