Louisiana’s Ragin Cajuns football team can clinch a berth in the Sun Belt Conference Championship game on Saturday at Cajun Field. Tickets are on sale now at the Cajundome box office. Louisana’s Ragin Cajuns outscored South Alabama 20-13 in the second half after taking a three-point lead to the locker room at the half.
Stevie Artique kicked two field goals in the third quarter while Elija Mitchell and Trey Ragas added two touchdowns in the fourth quarter to seal the 37-27 victory in Mobile on Saturday. Quarterback Levi Lewis became the sixth quarterback in program history to throw at least 15 touchdowns in a season.
The Ragin Cajuns finish their road schedule perfect, a feat not accomplished by the program since 1970. The team improved to an 8-2 record through ten games, the best since 1976. Louisiana comes home to the friendly confines of Cajun Field this Saturday for a 4 PM kickoff against a struggling Troy team. The Ragin Cajuns will wrap up the regular season and celebrate “Senior Day” on November 30th against in-state rival ULM.
