The South China Morning Post claims a man spent an entire year collecting fingernail clippings to make a ‘diamond’ for an engagement ring. He collected the clippings before grinding them in a blender and then baking them in an oven. The man placed his hardened black fingernail diamond in the setting of a sterling silver ring.
