Spiked Seltzers are the New Trendy Drink

You’ve probably noticed more and more people drinking spiked seltzers over the past few months.  Their sales are booming in the U.S.!

UBS analyst, Sean King, expects a 66% growth rate, which would move the hard seltzer category from a worth of $550 million to $2.5 billion by 2021.  Brands like Whiteclaw, Truly, and Bon & Viv, have converted beer and wine drinkers.

“The numbers I think are surprising to everyone in the market,” – King in an interview with Markets Insider

Drinkers say they’re lighter than beer and the cans are more convenient than wine.  Nielsen data shows hard-seltzer sales grew 164.3% in July 2019 and roughly 200% over the past year.  Expect some of the major beer companies to capitalize on the trend in the future.
