With the impending weather coming up from the Gulf of Mexico, the National Weather Service in Lake Charles has issued a Flash Flood Watch for portions of Acadiana and Southwest Louisiana.
The Flood Watch includes Acadia, Calcasieu, Iberia, Jeff Davis, Lafayette, Upper and Lower St. Martin, St. Mary, Vermilion and Western Cameron Parishes.
The Flash Flood Watch is in effect starting Saturday at Midnight and continues throughout the Saturday Evening. The potential from 1-4 inches of rain could fall in these affected areas, Highest rain totals should be near the coast.
Please take precautions, if severe rain is falling please do not drive if you do not have to. Also , if you see water on the road, remember, “Don’t Drown..Turn Around”.
