On Monday, GNC CEO Ken Martindale, said the health and nutrition chain is planning to close hundreds of stores.
Experts are calling it a “retail apocalypse” as mall and retail traffic trends are decreasingly drastically in the rise of online shopping. GNC plans to close 700-900 locations over the next three years.
“As a result of the current mall traffic trends, it’s likely that we will end up closer to the top end of our original optimization estimate of 700 to 900 store closures,” – Martindale
