Country Time is Paying Fines for Kid’s Lemonade Stands

The Country Time Lemonade company is paying fines levied against kids who set up lemonade stands during the Summer.

Lemonade isn’t illegal in the United States, like the somewhat overzealous video suggests, but it can be illegal for kids to sell it in many states around the country.  The reason?  Permits and governmental red tape that, in some areas, require kids to pay over $1,000 just to get started.

Last year, Country Time Lemonade decided to start paying fees for kids who felt the long arm of the law and they’re doing it again this Summer.  The company is also attempting to change the laws and allow kids to start-up lemonade stands permit-free in all states.
