After a fair showing in the SEC baseball tournament, the LSU baseball team will once again be hosting a double-elimination tournament this coming weekend. It’s the 26th time since 1986 that the Tigers will hosting NCAA postseason play as they received one of 16 host sites handed out by the NCAA Baseball Selection Committee on Sunday night.

The Tigers’ RPI rose from No. 21 to No. 16 over the last week while the Tigers competed in the SEC baseball tournament in Hoover, Alabama. LSU will host three other teams in a double-elimination tournament beginning Friday. The winner advances to a two-team, best-of-three Super Regional from June 7-10 that decide the eight teams that go to the College World Series in Omaha, Nebraska, June 15-26.
