“Get The Ref,” a proposed comedy movie about the infamous “no call” that cost the New Orleans Saints a chance at the Superbowl, is also reaching out internationally for funding.
Prior Military Productions, Inc. says the project is on track for filming in Louisiana this Fall. The company is also reaching out to international Saints fans at the 2019 International Cannes Festival in France.
“Parochial film representative Darko Ostojic (Belgium) is repping the project in France to secure investment capital and foreign pre-sales. The buzz of New Orleans Saints fans is palpable at the festival…” – Joanne Busch, Development Producer
Daughter of Clint Eastwood, Kimber Eastwood, is now on-board as a “physical” production specialist. Prior Military Productions, Inc. is also reaching out to Susan Sarandon for narration and are also looking to secure A-list talent.
Busch also credits many Louisiana locals:
“I couldn’t do any of this without them. Alex Berthelot of Saints Nation is a God-send! He is working tirelessly on resources like locations
and relations with the Saints’ organization. Joseph P Untz II (USN Special Forces Vet -Founder of Enduring Freedom Holistic ehabilitation Retreat) is wonderful, lining up disabled vets for retraining on set during the filming process. Erick Engelhardt (Big Easy Mafia) is incredible. He has been a social media maven along with Paul Scheppf (Da Boom) and a veteran who acts, Brian Plaideau (Captain Crescent City).
PMP retrains disabled U.S. military veterans in the film/TV industry. “Get the Ref!” will be their first official project. “The director of National Programs at the U.S. Department of Labor loves what we’re doing. Disabled vets are among the hardest class of individuals to
employ. Saints fans are making a big difference.”
