Changes Coming to Cajun Heartland State Fair

We are one month away from the Cajun Heartland State Fair and the Cajundome has announced changes concerning parking and admission for this year’s fair.

From Cajundome’s Facebook page,

New this year: Free Parking, $3 Entry Fee

Here are our thoughts, fair friends:
In order to create a safer, family-friendly environment at the Cajun Heartland State Fair, we have decided to waive the previous $10 daily parking fee and charge an admission fee onto the fair grounds. (Children 2 & under are free to enter.)

After researching numerous fairs and festivals around our area and abroad that have switched to an admission fee, we feel that this will best create the safe, family-oriented environment that guests want and are accustomed to when attending events.

Opening night of the fair, Thursday, May 23, guests can receive free admission with a Coca Cola bottle wristband (which will be available for purchase at local retailers) and we will be offering some weekday promotions such as the BIG 102.1 Together We Can Food Drive that will provide free admission with a canned good donation.

Your admission fee enables us to provide free family entertainment on-site such as the Show Me Safari Petting Zoo and Swine Races, the World of Wonders Big Top Show, Texas Tommy’s Wild West Revue, Jingles the Clown, and much, much more.

We hope that you’ll continue to support this 31 year old community event which supports the staff and operations of the CAJUNDOME.
