Huey P Long Bridge Closed After Being Struck

According to the New Orleans Advocate, the Huey P Long Bridge has been closed in both directions after being struck by a vessel.

The Mississippi River has been rising due to heavy rainfall.  The Bonnet Carre Spillway was opened Wednesday morning as the water is less than 2-feet away from the 17-foot mark that New Orleans levees are designed to handle.
