Multiple sources are confirming a female Shreveport police officer was shot four times including once in the head, around 8:20 Wednesday night. She was transported to University Health with life threatening injuries but later died.
Officers initially responded to the shooting in the 1600 block of Midway. They say she was not on duty but headed to work at the time. The Mayor and Police Chief were on the scene and later made their way to the hospital.
