According to Adam Schefter, New Orleans Saints Head Coach Sean Payton has spoken with NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell about the egregious non-call during the NFC Championship Game that costs the Saints a chance to go to the Super Bowl.
Apparently, Sean Payton had to contact the commissioner as Goodell did not reach out to him. Result? NOTHING. The NFL just admitted that the call should have been made.
Some context: Sean Payton reached out to NFL this week to see how it would publicly handle situation and demonstrate leadership it should; NFL did not reach out to him. NFL felt the explanation that Riveron offered Payton after game – officials missed the call – was sufficient. https://t.co/DdS5HBUDxN
