Rock group, BLINK-182 has been around for more than two decades and, after all this time, it’s come to our attention that we may be pronouncing the band’s name incorrectly.
A comedian mentioned that many British pronounce the name ‘Blink One Eight Two‘ instead of ‘Blink One Eighty Two‘. The argument is about proper English, of course.
If it’s a number, it’s one hundred and eighty two. If it’s figures, then it’s one eight two. One eighty two just isn’t a thing.
For what it’s worth, James Corden Tweeted, “I admit we are wrong on this. [But] America calls them Blink-One Eighty Two, which is also wrong. They technically should be called Blink-One Hundred and Eighty-Two.”
Thank you James. Some say one eighty two. Some say one eight two. But in all of this, I feel like we’ve lost sight of the fact that the B in blink-182 should be lower-case. https://t.co/d3Gi2Ezmhu

The band hasn’t made an official statement, but they’re joking about it. Mark Hoppus says we’re focusing on the wrong thing. He Tweeted, quote, “In all of this, I feel like we’ve lost sight of the fact that the ‘B’ in blink-182 should be lower-case.”
It’s actually— Blink eighteen-two. People have all gotten this wrong for years. Sometimes this can happen with very complex, thoughtful and elevated art. https://t.co/jmsfv401KF

And Tom DeLonge sarcastically Tweeted, quote, “It’s actually Blink EIGHTEEN-TWO. People have all gotten this wrong for years. Sometimes this can happen with very complex, thoughtful and elevated art.” Travis Barker hasn’t commented.
