Update on Michael Lotief’s Lawsuit

Attorneys of former Ragin’ Cajuns head softball coach, Michael Lotief, held a press conference to give the latest on his dismissal from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette.  Lotief was released on November 1, 2017, following a period of administrative leave.  The press conference was held about a week after several former softball players filed a gender discrimination complaint against the university.

Lotief’s attorneys went point-by-point through the wrongful termination lawsuit filed against the university.  The attorneys refuted earlier public statements made by the University in his dismissal. They are alledging that the dismissal was inflammatory and slanderous.  The attorneys also claimed that some of Lotief’s personal belongings are still in the university’s possession. They scolded the media, in general, for not asking enough questions of the university.

The attorneys also spoke in support of the players who filed the gender discrimination lawsuit against the university.
