The California state auditor’s office has just released a report on “state worker misconduct” and one case really stands out. One employee has spent thousands of hours sleeping on the job. Between February 2014 and December 2017, the woman slept more than 2,200 hours while on the clock. That’s more than a total work year.
Her boss admitted to having to wake her up 3 or 4 times a day, but didn’t push the issue because they thought the woman may have had a medical issue. The woman processed less than half of the papers she was supposed to during that time period. She’s still employed because her boss did not fill out the proper paperwork to discipline her.
