Area High School Football Teams In Action This Week

Area High School Football teams will square up in action on Thursday and Friday night throughout Acadiana. The Lafayette Kiwanis Jamboree will once again take place at Cajun Field on Thursday and Friday with Cecilia, Teurlings, Carencro, Comeaux, Breaux Bridge and Lafayette on Thursday night. St. Martinville, St Thomas More, Acadiana, Notre Dame, Northside, and LaGrange of Lake Charles on Friday Night. The Notre Dame and Acadiana match-up will be carried on our family station Pure Country 106.7 and purecountry1067.com.  This Year the parishes of Acadia and Vermillion have joined forces to dual host the Acadia -Vermillion Jamboree On Thursday Night with Rayne High School being the site of the action.  Erath will make the trip to see the new offense of the Crowley Gents under new leadership while Rayne will host Abbeville as it prepares for its new district. The action continues Friday night in Kaplan as Church Point travels to face North Vermilion while Lake Arthur will square off against host Kaplan.

In New Iberia it’s the Sugar Cane Jamboree as the action kicks off at 5:30 Loreauville and Delcambre followed by Highland Baptist and Jeanerette and the actions concludes Friday night with a clash of the titans Westgate and New Iberia. Catholic of New Iberia will be in action on Thursday Night at Teurlings for the Iron Man Jamboree against Lafayette Christian and Ascension Episcopal will face off against Vermilion Catholic.

In the shadows of the Gueydan Duck Festival Gueydan High School is hosting the Gueydan “Bear Down” Jamboree at Gueydan High School Hamilton Christian, Gueydan, and the New Southside High will play Round Robin schedule.

Opelousas plays host to two separate Jamborees on Friday the traditional Opelousas Kiwanis Jamboree to be held at Westminster High School pitting Opelousas Catholic against Hanson, host Westminster against University of Alexandria and the St. Landry Parish Public School Jamboree at Donald Gardner Stadium that will see North Central vs. Eunice while Beau Chene faces Port Barre and Northwest against Opelousas.

And Finally the Joe Nagata Memorial Jamboree will take place on Friday at Eunice High and will see St. Edmund vs. Sacred Heart and Eunice against Iota.
